The following are just a small sample of the programs we offer... Please contact us for a more complete list!

Understanding Special Education: A Parent Primer

USE Training:   WeCAHR offers USE, Understanding Special Education, training to parents of children with disabilities.  USE is a 7-hour course that teaches parents how to be an effective advocate/planner for their child. USE teaches parents how to present their child in the best possible way, suggests how to cope with feelings and teaches them how to get through the complex maze of special education.

USE also trains parents on the important provisions of IDEA, (Individuals with Disabilities Education Act), how to write an effective IEP (Individual Education Plan) and most importantly how to work collaboratively with their child's school.  WeCAHR offers this course in the spring and in the fall.
